The Lacey South Sound area is seeking an Office Assistant to support daily operations, member services, events, and communications. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys organized work, steady contact with people, and being part of a local business community. The role offers room to grow while working closely with local leaders, business owners, and chamber members.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Occasional evening and weekend hours are required for events.
Pay
Starting wage is $17.13 per hour, with the opportunity to grow to $25.00 per hour.

Position Summary
The Office Assistant helps keep the office running smoothly by handling administrative tasks, supporting membership activity, assisting with events, helping with communications, and managing routine office upkeep. The right candidate will be dependable, organized, friendly, and comfortable juggling a variety of responsibilities. Valid driver’s license required (must be able to travel to event locations)
Primary Responsibilities
Administrative Support

  • Answer phones and direct calls
  • Monitor incoming email and route messages as needed
  • Prepare meeting agendas and table cards
  • Schedule Forum speakers
  • Organize meeting materials, supplies, and food
Membership and Database Support
  • Contact renewing members and send renewal notices
  • Approve new members in the Chamber management system
  • Create and send invoices for online payments
  • Update membership records and spreadsheets
  • Remove inactive members from the system
  • Forward new and dropped member information to Finance
Financial Support
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Prepare checks for payment
  • Mail or deliver vendor payments
  • Work with Finance on removal and creation of invoices
Events and Programs
  • Set up events in the Chamber management system
  • Assist with event planning, coordination, and on-site support
  • Work with event chairs to help events run smoothly
Communications
  • Create and schedule social media posts
  • Coordinate website updates with the web designer
  • Proofread website content and test links before publication
Office Maintenance
  • Help maintain a clean and orderly office, including light cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and cleaning windows
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Comfort with spreadsheets, email, and database systems
  • A professional and helpful manner
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to assist with both office work and event support
